At St Brigid’s Music, Drama and Physical Education, Languages other than English and Wellbeing are the timetabled specialist subjects. All specialist subjects are taught by suitably qualified teachers.
Physical Education and sports are an integral part of the school culture. St Brigid’s students also have the opportunity to attend the Southern Catholic Carnivals for swimming, athletics and cross country.
An Outdoor Education Program is offered in Grades 4 to 6. This programme consists of grade camps to various locations throughout Tasmania. Many of the activities of the camp are directly related to the curriculum and important aspects of each camp are leadership and Christian Living.
Choir, Guitar Club, Code Club and Running Club are run on site during non-class time. Students may also join in local art and cultural events.
In 2018 St Brigid's became a Wilds'Cool working in collaboration with Parks and Wildlife to explore and understand both our own site and National Park.
As a Wilds'Cool St Brigid's are fortunate to have wonderful volunteers who come in and work with our students, and plan and present amazing experiences here and in the park. If you are at the Mount Field visitor centre you may notice outside a tree recognising St Brigid's efforts and enthusiasm for care of our environment!
